Chiral Selectors
Daicel Protein-based Chiral Selectors
Daicel immobilized protein stationary phases are successfully used by scientists for separation and characterization of chiral compounds across a wide range of applications—from drug discovery and quality assurance to environmental monitoring and drug-protein binding studies.
Broad enantioselectivity
Daicel CHIRALPAK® protein-based chiral selectors are immobilized on 5-µm spherical silica particles. They function entirely in the reversed-phase chromatographic mode, using buffers with low organic modifier content and at moderate pH values. Enantioselectivity can easily be controlled or improved by changes in the mobile phase composition: pH, buffer and organic modifier types and concentrations
Multiple selectors, many applications
Daicel protein stationary chiral selectors are available with three main proteins:
- CHIRALPAK® AGP – α 1-acid glycoprotein
- CHIRALPAK® HSA – Human serum albumin
- CHIRALPAK® CBH – Cellobiohydrolase (stable enzyme)
The Daicel CHIRALPAK® AGP selector has extremely broad applicability for the separation of a wide variety of chiral compounds, such as amines, acids, and nonprolytes. The enantioselectivity of the Daicel CHIRALPAK® CBH selector is complementary to that of the AGP selector.
A range of other serum albumin protein columns is available for use alongside CHIRALPAK® HSA in binding studies to confirm the ability of a pharmaceutical to bind to a protein, including:
- CHIRALPAK® RSA – Rat serum albumin
- CHIRALPAK® BSA – Bovine serum albumin
- CHIRALPAK® MSA – Mouse serum albumin
- CHIRALPAK® PSA – Pig serum albumin
- CHIRALPAK® DSA – Dog serum albumin
